It all begins with a love for the art…

As a young kid, I loved movies. we all did though, right? They were a way for me to escape to a world of fantasy and adventure. So naturally, when my parents got a camcorder, I started making Home films.  for years I would arrange friends and inanimate objects to create these elaborate movies and sets. But, as I got older and sports and adult life became more of a focus, I lost that connection to filmmaking.

At 20 years old, I joined the Coast Guard where it has been a whirlwind of a career. Upon joining I was almost immediately a first responder to the “Miracle on the Hudson” working on my ship as the EMT and acting as patrol command for the rescue and recovery of the plane. During my time in I have conducted numerous presidential operations for both sitting presidents and at the United Nations General Assembly. I have inspected foreign container ships for U.S. security, responded to hurricanes, oil spills of national significance, and protected seafarers from the perils of the sea. Quite successfully I might add. for over 15 years now I’ve dedicated my life in the Coast Guard to helping and protecting others.

But then one day a few years ago I picked up a camera again. And I fell in love with it all over again. I dedicated all my free time to learning, and doing, and meeting people within the industry. Now, sitting here years later I’ve worked for HBO, ESPN, PBS, Hulu, have done presidential campaign ads, and more. I found that proverbial camcorder again. A lot of people lose their passion for filmmaking over time and it just becomes a job for them. But to me, the whole reason I do it is because of the fun I have. And the more fun you have the better the quality of the product. I believe even after all this time that every day on set is a good day!
